Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s committed project ‘Bajirao Mastani’ will see Deepika Padukone playing the nominal role of Mastani. The talented actress has been roped in to play the role of the daughter of a Hindu Maharaja Chhatrasal of Bundelkhand. Lately this versatile actress was in the headlines for the fact that she wore a 20-kg armor for a fight sequence. Deepika had to perform a sword-wielding sequence and in order to make the scene look perfect and leave no loopholes in it, she had reportedly, also taken lessons in sword fighting and martial arts.
Briefing about the skillful actress, Deepika Padukone, is well known for her acting as well as her modeling skills. She is someone who has survived this industry without having any backbone behind her. Her talent has rooted her into the industry without the support of any godfather. Deepika’s proficiency made her carve her own path and not follow anyone else’s footsteps.
Deepika Padukone was born on 5 January 1986. She is the daughter of Prakash Padukone and Ujjala Padukone and was born in Copenhagen, Denmark. Circumstances made her return back to Bangalore, India when she was eleven months. Deepika, like her father Prakash Padukone, too enjoyed badminton, pursued the game, and has played state level matches. However, she realized later that badminton was not her forte. She was enrolled with the Indira Gandhi National Open University in Bachelors of Arts (Sociology), when she made her debut.
She debuted with her Kannada film ‘Aishwarya’ that released in 2006. Her maiden movie in Bollywood was ‘Om Shanti Om’ where she was casted opposite Shahrukh Khan, for which she was applauded genuinely and was awarded with Best Female Debut at the Filmfare Award. Deepika Padukone was last seen in ‘Happy New Year’, where she was casted opposite Shah Rukh Khan. Her to-be-released list of movies include ‘Piku’ where she will be seen playing daughter to Amitabh Bachchan and ‘Tamasha’ opposite Ranbir Kapoor.
The adept actress has also been attending workshops and learning Bengali for the movie ‘Piku,’ for which she was also assisted by veteran actor Moushumi Chatterjee.
